Minister of Religion

Role Summary
Royal Priesthood Pentecostal Church (UK) is seeking a Minister of Religion to provide spiritual leadership, biblical teaching, pastoral care and ministry oversight within the church. This role is for a mature Christian leader with proven ministry experience, strong theological understanding, pastoral sensitivity and the ability to serve a diverse congregation with wisdom, compassion and integrity.
The Minister of Religion will preach, teach, lead worship, conduct religious ceremonies, support discipleship, provide pastoral counselling, oversee ministry activities and represent the church in community and faith-based settings. The role requires spiritual maturity, strong leadership, safeguarding awareness and a genuine commitment to the growth of the church and its members.
Responsibilities
- Preach, teach and lead worship services in accordance with Christian doctrine and the vision of the church.
- Conduct religious ceremonies, including baptisms, communion services, weddings, funerals and child dedications where appropriate.
- Provide pastoral counselling, prayer, spiritual guidance and confidential support to individuals and families.
- Lead Bible studies, discipleship programmes, prayer meetings and theological teaching sessions.
- Support the spiritual development of children, youth, adults and families within the congregation.
- Oversee ministry teams, volunteers and church programmes as directed by senior church leadership.
- Assist with strategic ministry planning, service preparation and the coordination of church activities.
- Represent the church at community events, inter-church gatherings and public functions.
- Promote safeguarding, pastoral care, confidentiality and the welfare of vulnerable people.
- Uphold the moral, ethical and spiritual standards expected of a church minister.
Requirements
- Ordained, licensed, recognised, or demonstrably experienced in Christian ministry.
- Proven experience in preaching, teaching, pastoral care and church leadership.
- Strong biblical and theological understanding.
- Ability to communicate clearly and pastor people from different backgrounds.
- Good organisational, leadership and conflict-resolution skills.
- Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and pastoral boundaries.
- Ability to work with church trustees, ministry leaders, volunteers and community partners.
- Willingness to work Sundays, evenings, special services and occasional events.
